Visas and Flights and Swine Flu...oh my!

Welcome to my China blog!!!! In the hopes that blogspot & blogger.com is not banned in China, I'm going to use this to post photos and keep everyone updated on my life in Shanghai. (Facebook IS blocked, so just FYI, communication with me via The Book may be sparse...)

With my internship less than one month away, preparations for my 3-month adventure are in full swing! I just sent away for my 90-day F visa from the US-China Chamber of Commerce in Chicago. If all goes well, they won't lose my passport and I'll have it back safely by Monday.

Apparently, I can't buy a plane ticket until I have a valid visa...soooo my actual date of departure is still up in the air. (..no pun intended...) But I am leaving sometime between 2/15 & 2/20.

My dad & I just got our H1N1 vaccines yesterday. We all know how much I love shots...but I couldn't even feel this one! Great success! In addition, my physician gave me -- the girl who is always sick -- a lovely selection of antibiotics. She either knows me very well, or has seen me as a patient wayyy too many times. We don't hang out too much, so I'm going with the latter.

Gonna go surf now.
